This whisky shows the contempt with which Glenlivet holds its customers outside of the US. You see, Glenlivet is the best selling single malt in America, so it is a very important market for them. Now, this non age statement Founder's Reserve has replaced the Glenlivet 12 year old everywhere.
Their second youngest expression in their arsenal, The Glenlivet 15 is aged much like their 12 year. That is to say in used (very used) ex-bourbon barrels, but for those three extra years it ages in new French Limousin oak which are typically used in Cognac production.
Deliciously smooth, with rich dried fruits and sherry, balanced with wood smoke and spice. Described by Paul Pacult, the renowned international whisky writer, in his book Kindred Spirits as: "simply the best 12 Year Old single malt around"
Exclusively sherry seasoned Whisky is matured in a combination of American and European oak for a minimum of 12 years to create this distinctive Highland Single Malt. Creamy butterscotch and toffee apple on the nose, with vanilla, candied orange and new oak notes.
Macallan 10 Years Old Fine Oak Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is complex with a hint of fruit and heather honey on the nose. The palate is soft and malty balanced with oak and fruit. It is lingering with hints of oak and fruit finish. Available in 70 cl.
Tomatin 12 Year Old. Bourbon & Sherry Casks. A 2016 replacement for the previous sherry-finished expression, this Tomatin 12 Year Old has been aged in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. The result is a sweet whisky with notes of apples, citrus and sweet spice.
