Glenmorangie's Nectar d'Or is a 12-Year-Old Whisky finished in Sauternes casks. This is sweet and spicy with notes of ginger, nutmeg lemon meringue and honeycomb.

The Taghta from Glenmorangie is a 'crowd-sourced' whisky, in that many of its characteristics were decided by the Cask Masters, Glenmorangie's loyal fans - an exciting concept which has resulted in this limited edition expression.
In the glass, the scotch has a gold and slightly coppery appearance, suggestive of more body than the typical 12 year old blend. That point complements the 43% abv, which is also somewhat more than one expects from the typical blend of this type.

Switched from an old favorite to try Highland Park 12 and really rather disappointed as found the flavor was just a bit lacking as didn't find the depth mentioned in the tasting notes. There's better single malts out there for the same price.
